A Weekly Pause to Move You Forward
This week’s reminder for living with momentum:
This is Week 5 of Infinite Momentum - a quiet rhythm for high performers building clarity and strength that lasts.
"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”
You did the extra work. No thank yous.
You offered help. No response.
You showed up, and no one seemed to notice.
That’s the part no one talks about.
Many of us learned to equate contribution with credit, even when we know better:
If there’s no result, it didn’t count.
If no one noticed, it didn’t matter.
Even now, with the success, reflection, and work we’ve done, a part of us is still likely chasing gold stars and A+ grades on some level, looking for some acknowledgment that says, “You’re doing it right.”
And then, once in a while, you get that outcome - the win, the praise, the promotion - and it still feels off. That’s disorienting. What went wrong?
You hit the goal, but maybe it wasn’t a goal you valued.
You said yes when you meant no.
You made it happen — but maybe you're not proud of how you got there.
That’s not failure. That’s misalignment.
Sometimes the fundamental shift isn’t in results, it’s in moving from choices shaped by approval… to choices shaped by your values.
When your actions match your values, even if no one sees it, it still counts.
This week, remember:
The things that matter most often happen quietly.
No spotlight. No scoreboard. Just integrity in motion.
A question for this week:
What’s one thing you did recently, something no one saw or tracked, that made you feel more like yourself?
For me?
I’ve been clearing space.
Email backlog, old clothes, calendar noise.
Planted a small garden, too.
No applause. Just presence.
Gardening was very peaceful.
Like this newsletter, too. I started it to stay aligned—more for me than for metrics.
If something came to mind, keep it close.
Could you do it again?
Whatever it was, challenge yourself to do it again this week.
Even once. Even small. That’s momentum.
Even the quiet work changes you.
As they say, character is what you do when no one’s watching.
See you next Sunday,
Eric
P.S. If this helped reframe something for you, feel free to pass it along to someone else doing the invisible work right now.
How did this week's reflection land with you?
