Good morning {{ First Name | boss }}!
As it turns out, nearly all of us want to feel healthier, sharper, and more energized—I’ve seen it in your initial survey responses.
We set goals to sleep better, perform at our best, or simply show up fully in our lives. But often, our habits and cultural norms stay the same, even as we want different results.
Take drinking, for example. For many of us, at work events, holiday parties, dinners, or date nights, it’s easy to mindlessly have several drinks because that’s “the norm.” But when was the last time you stopped to ask yourself, “Do I actually want this drink?”
To be clear, I’m not saying drinking is the enemy, or judging you for enjoying a beverage. The point is to be mindful. If you drink because you want to—not out of habit—you’ll likely feel better about it.
Some of you have already told me you know you need to drink less, so for you specifically - here’s your accountability reminder.
Here’s the challenge: Find one moment to choose differently.

Here are a few simple shifts you can consider:
Go for a hike with friends to catch up instead of meeting at a bar.
Pass on drinks at a holiday party and stick to sparkling water.
On a night out, swap a cocktail for a zero-alcohol beer.
Swap grabbing a beer for grabbing a coffee or tea.
Change a standard ‘date night’ to a new active shared experience.
Shift the habit of a drink after work with a workout, hot shower, or meditation.
Notice how it feels—before, during, and after. Did it feel uncomfortable shifting habits? Do you feel better or worse with the change you made?
And if you’re already a teetotaler, think about another habit you can reassess. Is there a routine or norm that’s worth shaking up?
Small, intentional choices break patterns and lead to real change. The better results you’re looking for might start with one mindful choice.
Cheers y’all,
Eric
