Happy Monday {{First Name | all}},
As I mentioned on Friday, my creative mojo took a bit of a hit after last week’s chaos, but it’s starting to return! Turns out I also had the flu, which definitely knocked my energy down a notch or two. Thank you for the kind messages—I’m on the mend and ready for a fresh start.
For today’s post, I’m sharing a thoughtful reflection on resilience from H. Thank you, H, for your inspiring words—they truly go a long way. Sometimes it’s hard to feel that sense of resilience when you’re in the thick of it, so to speak.
I’ve also included a quick update on the Strava fitness challenge below.
On another note, any ad revenue from members clicking the Huel ad will go toward LA Fire Relief. I’ve never tried Huel before, but I’m curious what people think of it. It kind of reminds me of the mush from The Matrix—hopefully, it tastes a bit better than how they described it in the film!
Wishing you a great week ahead!
Eric
The Art of Letting Go: Finding Peace in Happiness
The key to peace and happiness lies in releasing our attachment to specific outcomes and letting go of expectations about how situations, or events “should” unfold.
Despite our best efforts, outcomes are often beyond our control. What we can control is our response, choosing to focus on gratitude for every experience, whether or not it aligns with our expectations.
When outcomes don’t match our hopes, we can ask: What can I do about this? If tangible actions are possible, then we should take them. If there’s nothing we can do, it’s time to release the worry and trust that life is guiding us toward the best possible outcome.
Kindness, gratitude, forgiveness, and love toward ourselves and others help us stay aligned with this path. This way of thinking doesn’t mean giving up on our dreams or goals, quite the opposite.
Dream boldly, work tirelessly, and strive for the highest possible outcomes.
But at a certain point, surrender to what is and receive what life offers with an open heart. Every experience, whether joyful or challenging, carries a lesson.
Learn, grow, and always say “Thank you” with absolute gratitude.
